CladIn Invites You to Paris!

At Clad in, we love a good styling challenge. And, one of the biggest challenges (read: our favorite) is finding comfortable, chic, travel-friendly and VERSATILE clothing for a big trip. Naturally, your dream vacation deserves a dream wardrobe. But, a dream wardrobe that fits in a carry on? Bring it on! Challenge accepted.
We invite you to come with us on a luxurious, 5-day Paris vacation. Well, virtually and sartorially, that is. Dream along with us, and scroll down to discover snapshots of our trip and outfits.
For our first day in Paris, we imagine strolling the cobblestone streets and ending up at a fabulous outdoor cafe. Croissant and glass of champagne? Yes, please! Given the amount of walking and likely, uneven pathways, we chose breathable Spirithouse leggings, a long, cotton layering tank from SumiSumi, Babette's "Watercolor Scarf" (Monet would surely approve), and black Fly London sandals with a sturdy, shock-absorbing rubber wedge and velcro strap. And may we say how underrated a velcro strap is when it comes to airport security checks?! We finished the look with one of our favorite pieces from Elemente Clemente: a colorful, linen dress that can double as a duster/cardigan (in stores only). Easy, breezy and internationally chic.
There are shoes deemed “comfortable,” and shoes that must adhere to an even higher echelon of comfort. We like to call this latter category “shoes that can withstand an entire day of standing and walking.” For our long, museum-trolling day at the Louvre, we chose buttery-soft, blush-colored leather sandals from Everybody. This Italian, artisan-crafted footwear is a staff favorite season after season because of its undeniable comfort and unique style. Building on up, we finished our Day 2 look with a black and white dress from Crea Concept (a French designer!), a cinched black belt, an ivory crinkled wrap from Ray Harris (in case the museum is air-conditioned), a hand-dyed clutch from Ethiopian designer Sammy, and pearl erasing from Margaret Ellis (for a touch of sparkle!)
Versatile, wear-this-a-dozen-ways kind of garments are one of the main tricks to having a sharply edited travel bag. Shoes that can be dressed up or down, a shirtdress than can also be worn as a jacket, and a scarf that matches everything in your wardrobe…these are the unique pieces that Clad in does best!. For our Day 3 outfit, we repurposed our bright, linen Elemente Clemente dress (all buttoned up this time), our heavenly soft Everybody sandals (did we mention that they also have sturdy rubber soles?), the Watercolor Scarf from Babette (with just a touch of peach to tie the outfit together), our Sammy Handbag, and pearl earrings (also with just a touch of peach!) What a happy color in which to daydream through Parisian gardens.
What would a trip to Paris be without a visit to the Eiffel Tower? For our Day 4 outfit, we selected an elegant, draped skirt from Porto. Porto’s breathable, washable, tech fabric is our go-to textile for travel because it’s wrinkle-proof and can fold down to just a few square inches! We paired it with our long SumiSumi tank, a most-fabulous convertible black wrap from XeniaDesign, our trusty black Fly London wedge sandals and Babette Watercolor Scarf (wow, it really DOES go with everything!) In this outfit, we’re cool, elegant and ready for a rosy-hued afternoon!
As fans of French cinema, we know that no Paris-based story is complete without music and drama. No Paris vacation should be either! Because of this, we want to end our trip at the famed Garnier Opera House. However, on our busy last day, we fear there will no time to return to our hotel in between our day on the town and our marvelous evening plans. We need an outfit that can transition from daytime ease into nighttime opulence. With our flirty Crea Concept Hole Punch Dress on hand, that’ll be no problem!
We can float through our day, wearing the dress with our Fly London wedge sandals, and then pack a small bag of formal accessories: Monies' theatrical gold resin necklace and bracelet (big statement and almost weightless), Cydwoq's sparkly kitten heels(light and compact), and Indies' spectacular, lacey, totally-wrinkle-proof chemise. Trust us when we tell you--Mary Poppins has nothing on us--all of these accoutrements fit into a clutch!
Well, we did it! Here are our carry on contents--17 pieces in total--laid out and ready to go! It has been amazing sharing this faux-holiday with you, and we hope that sometime you’ll be able to stop by our stores with snapshots from your own stylish adventure.
Bon voyage (safe trip) / bienvenue à la maison (welcome home) from your Clad in styling team!
